Your practice is private by design.
This notice explains what SpeakSignal processes, what it keeps, and the choices available to you.
Updated September 8, 2026Who operates SpeakSignal
SpeakSignal is operated by Marbatis Systems LLC in Texas, United States. In this notice, “SpeakSignal,” “we,” and “us” refer to Marbatis Systems LLC and the SpeakSignal service.
Information we process
Account information
Creating an account requires an email address, password, and email confirmation. Clerk provides authentication and stores the account credentials and session information. SpeakSignal does not receive or store your raw password. Our application ledger identifies you using Clerk's internal user ID rather than storing your email address.
Practice content and audio
When you begin a live drill, your browser sends microphone audio, the practice sentence, and relevant coaching preferences to OpenAI for real-time processing. OpenAI returns the coach's audio and live text events to your browser. SpeakSignal does not store raw audio or server-side transcripts. The live transcript shown on screen remains in the current browser session and is not saved to your account by SpeakSignal.
If you enter a custom topic, that topic may be sent to OpenAI to check it for safety and generate a suitable practice sentence. Do not speak or enter confidential, regulated, or highly sensitive information.
The Android app
The SpeakSignal Android app has no accounts. When you tap Record, the app sends that recording (up to 15 seconds) to SpeakSignal's server, where Google's Gemini model analyses it to find one correction. The recording is processed in memory and is not stored or used to train models. Your Google Play subscription identifies you: the server keeps only a one-way code derived from your purchase token, for the daily and weekly practice limits, and that code expires within seven days. Each take also carries a Google Play Integrity token so the server can confirm the request comes from the genuine app; it contains no personal identifiers and is not stored. Payments are handled by Google Play under Google's terms; SpeakSignal never sees your payment details.
Usage and subscription records
We keep the minimum records needed to enforce Free and Paid limits, prevent overlapping sessions, provide account-local daily resets, and reconcile subscriptions. These records can include your opaque account ID, time zone, plan, practice date, seconds used, session state, estimated service cost, Stripe customer and subscription IDs, subscription status, and billing-period dates. They do not contain your raw audio or live transcript.
Payment information
Stripe collects payment-card and billing information directly on its hosted Checkout and billing pages. SpeakSignal receives payment and subscription status plus Stripe's customer and subscription IDs; we do not receive or store your full card number.
Device information and local preferences
We use limited operational diagnostics to check whether microphone setup and practice connections work, whether a coach reply is delivered, and whether another speaking turn follows it. Diagnostic summaries contain event flags, a reply-duration measurement, fixed technical error categories, and a random ID for that attempt. They do not contain voice recordings, transcripts, practice sentences, device names, email addresses, or inferred emotions. We do not send these diagnostics to advertising platforms. We also use existing account usage dates to understand repeat practice.
Diagnostics are stored in our hosting logs under the hosting provider's configured retention. Temporary replay and rate-limit records expire within 24 hours. A diagnostic delivery failure does not prevent you from practicing.
Your browser stores your theme and optional coaching preferences, such as accent, voice, pace, difficulty, and first language, in local storage on your device. You can remove these values by clearing this site's browser data. Our hosting and security providers may process standard request information such as IP address, browser type, timestamps, and diagnostic logs to deliver and protect the service.
Support communications
If you contact us, we process your email address and the information in your message so we can respond and resolve the request.
How we use information
- Authenticate accounts and confirm email ownership.
- Provide sentences, live coaching, and audio responses.
- Apply daily and monthly practice limits.
- Process subscriptions, cancellations, and billing support.
- Protect the service, prevent abuse, and diagnose failures.
- Comply with legal, accounting, and security obligations.
Service providers
We use service providers only for the functions needed to operate SpeakSignal: Clerk for authentication, OpenAI for speech and language processing, Stripe for payments, Vercel for hosting, Neon for the account and usage ledger, and Upstash for operational usage controls. These providers process information under their own terms and our service agreements.
OpenAI states that API inputs and outputs are not used to train its models by default. OpenAI also states that default API abuse-monitoring logs may be retained for up to 30 days, unless longer retention is legally required. SpeakSignal does not independently retain the raw audio or live transcript.
Cookies, analytics, and advertising
Clerk uses essential cookies and similar storage to keep you signed in and protect account sessions. We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate site traffic. Stripe and other linked provider pages may use their own cookies under their policies.
SpeakSignal no longer loads the Google advertising tag or sends signup conversion events to Google Ads. The optional advertising measurement prompt has been removed. Essential account cookies, local coaching preferences, and operational usage records remain separate from advertising measurement.
If you previously allowed Google ad measurement, reload any open SpeakSignal tabs to use this version. Disabling measurement does not erase information already sent to Google. Previously stored advertising cookies or measurement preferences can be removed in your browser settings; they do not enable measurement in this version. Clearing all site data may also sign you out and reset your local preferences.
Retention and deletion
We retain account, usage, security, and subscription records while needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, satisfy accounting obligations, and comply with law. When a Clerk account is deleted, SpeakSignal marks its application record deleted and removes the optional profile field associated with it. Some deidentified usage records, transaction records, provider event IDs, and backups may remain for legitimate operational or legal purposes.
To request access to or deletion of your SpeakSignal information, email hello@marbatis.ai from your confirmed account email. We may need to verify the request. Deleting a SpeakSignal account does not automatically erase records that Stripe must retain or information held independently by other providers; their privacy tools and legal obligations also apply.
Security and international processing
We use access controls, encrypted connections, provider webhooks, and limited-purpose credentials to protect the service. No online system can guarantee absolute security. Information may be processed in the United States or other locations where our providers operate, subject to their safeguards and applicable law.
Children
SpeakSignal is intended for adults and is not directed to anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it when required.
Your choices and questions
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of personal information. To make a privacy request or ask a question, email hello@marbatis.ai.
We may update this notice as SpeakSignal changes. We will post the revised effective date here and provide additional notice when required by law.
